Is My Church Safe to Ask for Help?

This guide is not meant to give your church a score. It is meant to help you notice patterns, questions, and concerns that may be worth talking through with someone you trust.

If You Are in Immediate Danger

If you believe you or your children are in immediate danger, call 911 or your local emergency number.

If it is not safe to call from your own phone or device, consider using a trusted person’s phone or another safe device. If you believe your phone, email, location services, browser history, or shared accounts may be monitored, use caution when searching for help or changing passwords, as sudden changes can sometimes alert a controlling person.

Safe Harbor resources are educational and pastoral in nature. They are not a substitute for emergency services, legal advice, law enforcement, child-protection services, medical care, or individualized domestic-violence safety planning.
