Hope — Anchoring the Heart to Jesus
EP19: Hope — Anchoring the Heart to Jesus (Holiday Series, Pt. 2)
This podcast is unique and a little longer as we have some very special guests on the Coffee & Counseling podcast. Brian is joined by Biblical Livng Cneter team members Andrew Fulford and Nancy Beattie, both certified biblical counselors.
Pour-Over: Christmas reminds us that Emmanuel—God with us—is the ground of Christian hope. As we open, we share our favorite blends and brewing methods. Scripture & Story: We contrast worldly hope (wishful vibes) with biblical hope (certainty in Christ). Peter says in 1 Peter 1:3 that God gives us a living hope; Hebrews 6:19 says we have an anchor for the soul. The BLC Team (Andrew, Nancy and Brian ) share stories on how Jesus brought hope in real counseling moments. Counselor’s Corner: Each counselor shares a go-to hope verse and a short “how to use it” (prayer, journaling, reframing, small obedience).
Sip-Size Q&A — “I feel like I have no hope—what can I do?”
A brief composite story (Sunday-night fog, mounting bills, medical fear) leads into five steps: honest lament, anchor to who holds you (Romans 8:32), borrow hope from community (Galatians 6:2), take one concrete next step, and widen care if darkness lingers. Lamentations 3:21–23 says His mercies are new every morning. The BLC Team shares some insight on how they would care for Maya.
